There is currently an interesting discussion going on over at DigitalPoint regarding Programming Ethics, specifically in relation to phpLinkDirectory.
People are very defensive regarding phpLD, especially when it comes to creating competition. Competition is normal, it’s going on all around us. It would be a very boring world without it. But competition also means the phpLD “elite” and their “supporters” would make less money, which I assume is why they are so defensive about their right to monopolise.
I personally look forward to a more competitive phpLD mods market. While I prefer writing my own, I admire innovation and people such as LeopardAt1 are the ones to watch out for over the coming months as they’re sure to release some great mods.
