Fun Lovin’ Criminals - Big Night Out

"Bight Night Out" is one of The Fun Lovin’ Criminals finest tunes - at least for the boys. This lyrical genius was on their second album, 100% Columbian, released in 1998 which was a few years after their ground breaking début album, Come Find Yourself. The 90s truly was a great era for music. However, I digress - I had always wanted to watch the video to "Big Night Out" and now I have; I found it earlier this evening while searching Youtube.com and yes it was as good as I expected.

Typical Fun Lovin’ Criminals - talented lyrics, great music and an amusing video to go along with it.

Hopefully, a new album will be released shortly (check the difontaine.net forum - it’s just rumour, sadly, so it’s only a hopefully…) and also Clubbing To Death should hit the big screens by the end of the year, a film starring Huey and Frank. The story line sounds interesting (it’s about clubs and gangsters) and it’s an British film, too, so it’s bound to be good. :)

Blink 182? Totally kickin’, dude!

I’m sat at home, just chilling out by listening to music and reading a few news stories … suddenly I decide to put on Blink 182 and I realise how much I love this band. There music makes me feel so peaceful and happy inside … I remember in the years gone by when it would give me a buzz and smile during the unhappy time. Lift my spirits and give me hope.

Do I need this hope again? Sometimes perhaps … right now, I’m so uncertain.

… but going back to the music, one song in particular is a piece of genius: Apple Shampoo. It’s bouncy, great to sing along to (like many Blink 182 songs) but also covering a topic many of us can relate to.

A Flashback To The 1990s

.. of screaming teenage girls, often referred to as "teenieboppers", going crazy over boybands. It really wasn’t a pleasant flashback … the last thing I want to remember is the (terrible) music produced by the endless number of manufactured bands that were around then (and I guess some still are today).

My flashback was thanks to an article in the metro newspaper about former Boyzone member, Stephen Gately, who recently married with his gay partner in London.
It brought a smile to my face. All those girls who were crazy about him (many will profess to have wanted to marry him, I’m sure) never had a chance. :) Well, I say good luck to him and his husband. Hopefully it’s a better world for him today than it was in 1999…
