We’ve entered an age of technology culture. Today, everyone has - or wants - the latest gadgetry, such as multifunction mobile phones (with capabilities such as video calling, MP3 player, video playback and recording, high mega pixel cameras) and portable MP3/MP4 players, even if they don’t need it. It’s the fashion item to be seen with; you’re not cool if you don’t have one.
Such devices have come to play an important part in our every day lives, particularly mobile phones and PDAs, which allow us to communicate and organise the day’s (or future) tasks, appointments, shopping lists and keep track of our family’s and friends’ birthdays so that (hopefully) we don’t forget them again.
I’m personally all for such technology as it makes our lives easier or in the case of MP3/MP4 players, entertainment is delivered more conveniently for today’s increasingly fast paced and mobile society. However, we have to be careful that we do not let ourselves become overly dependent on any electronic device. After all, our mind is the most powerful computer of them all - don’t forget that!
