We’ve entered an age of technology culture. Today, everyone has - or wants - the latest gadgetry, such as multifunction mobile phones (with capabilities such as video calling, MP3 player, video playback and recording, high mega pixel cameras) and portable MP3/MP4 players, even if they don’t need it. It’s the fashion item to be seen with; you’re not cool if you don’t have one.

Such devices have come to play an important part in our every day lives, particularly mobile phones and PDAs, which allow us to communicate and organise the day’s (or future) tasks, appointments, shopping lists and keep track of our family’s and friends’ birthdays so that (hopefully) we don’t forget them again.

Since Poland has joined the EU, there has been a large influx of immigrants from there to the UK and these people have had to learn about and experience life in the UK. However, British people know very little about Poland, its history and culture, which is very unfortunate as it is a very beautiful and interesting country…

OK, so that has very little to do with the post title, so let’s get down to business and take a look at one of Poland’s many festivals.

The media likes to create hype as it sells papers, get viewers and listeners. Now they’re hyping a date, a number and religions would like us to believe it has evil connotations. A date that is 06/06/2006 AD, not 06/06/6 AD, but 2006 AD: 662006…

It’s not just a date for the media to cash in on, other people are too, such as the entertainingly named village Hell in Michigan, USA.

I honestly don’t see what all the fuss is about.

To me, it’s just another day… "Just A Perfect Day" (as Lou Reed sang). Nothing bad happened - well, while driving to work a friend was attacked by a coke can (!), but that was funny rather than bad (at least to me anyway).
