Most people have heard of dmoz.org, the so-called Open Directory Project, for reasons both good and bad.
Regardless of people’s personal feelings, it can’t be denied that dmoz is a very large directory and also a "complete free" directory. dmoz really needs some more challengers, and I came across an interestingly named one recently on a forum I frequent: World’s Biggest Directory – and it’s definitely big in terms of categories! There are 830 of them at this time. After only 6 days, there are already approximately 600 sites listed.
The directory is owned by an enterprising Indian named Amit. I know that he is investing time and money into redesigning the directory visually. If you can render assistance in this, he can be contacted by using the World’s Biggest Directory’s contact form.
Website and blogs can be submitted to Amit’s directory, for free, here.
Hopefully he will succeed in his challenge.
